I have been supervising LPC Associate's since 2015 and obtained full licensure in 2011 from the Texas State Board of Professional Counselors.  I began working in the field in 2005 and have gained 18 years of experience working in the behavioral health field.

I have supervised interns working in various settings and roles.  

  • Inpatient Behavioral Health Programs       

  • Outpatient Behavioral Health Programs

  • Crisis Programs

  • Immigrant Shelters

  • Programs for Disabled Individuals

  • Substance Abuse Programs

  • Master's Level Practicum Students

  • non-profit and private practice settings

  • clinician/therapist

  • oversight of programs

  • confidentiality guidelines and concerns

  • telehealth and face to face services

  • technology solutions/systems

  • ethical dilemmas

How do I conduct supervision:

  • have an interview meeting to identify a good fit for the supervision journey (expectations)

  • potential associate makes a decision and meet to sign paperwork for the licensing board

  • meet weekly via a combination of face-to-face or telehealth sessions

  • meet individually or in a group (choice of the associate and # of associates under supervision)

  • complete 72 weeks of supervision sessions, 45-to-60-minute sessions (minimum of 18 months)

  • completed 1500 hours of face-to-face and 1500 hours of indirect client contact (total 3000 hours)

  • sign supervision completion form and apply for licensure upgrade to LPC
